INTERFAITH ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF LATOYA COLLINS

THE WOODLANDS, TX (Monday, March 21, 2022) —Interfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce the appointment of LaToya Collins, as Director of Human Resources. Collins has over 10 years nonprofit experience and 20 years of management and employee relations. She is a welcomed addition to the Senior Leadership team at Interfaith of The Woodlands.

“LaToya’s vast experience in nonprofit and human resources with a focus on employee relations, diversity and inclusion and building organizational culture aligns perfectly with the forward-looking vision for Interfaith,” said Missy Herndon, President & CEO, Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Prior to joining Interfaith, Collins was the Director of Recruitment and Selection for Northwestern Mutual – The Woodlands. She spent ten years working in the nonprofit sector in Executive and Human Resources leadership roles for Family Promise of Montgomery County and YES to YOUTH – MCYS, primarily dedicating her efforts towards serving homeless youth and their families. Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University, a Diversity and Inclusion for HR Certificate through Cornell University and recently completed the SHRM-CP Certification course through Rice University. Her career background extends from retail management to nonprofit, specifically focusing on employee relations and customer service.

Collins is a current board member for Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) and the acting Team

Lead for the Diversity and Inclusion Council for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the LMC Class of 2016, a proud LMC Alumni, and an active member of the Montgomery County community. Some of the organizations Collins has an ongoing volunteer relationship with include Education for Tomorrow’s Alliance (EfTA), Bears Etc., Sleep in Heavenly Peace – TX Montgomery Co., the Montgomery ISD Education Foundation and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. Collins is a former board member for the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and a former advisory board member for the Community Assistance Center.

Collins is married to her husband, Jeffery. Together, they share six children, nine grandchildren, and their cat, Carti. Collins enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being a helping hand to her community whenever needed.

INTERFAITH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT TO SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Woodlands, TX (Thursday, September 16, 2021) —Interfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Huffine, as Co-Director of Programs and Services. Huffine has over 10 years of nonprofit experience and 25 years of management and project management experience. She will join current Director of Programs and Services, Holly Mayer, and is a welcomed addition to the Senior Leadership team who leads Interfaith as it moves into its 48th year of serving South Montgomery County.

“Jennifer’s extensive knowledge and hands-on approach to program development and execution, as well as her personal desire to meet the ever-growing and changing needs of our community, makes her an incredible fit to co-lead our efforts to provide every neighbor with essential, basic needs so they can live self-sufficiently,” shared Missy Herndon, Interfaith of The Woodlands President & CEO.

Prior to joining Interfaith, Huffine was the Director of Operations and Programs at Community Assistance Center and Marketing Manager at Montgomery County United Way. She is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County and served on the Montgomery County Food Bank Impact Council and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Leadership Advisory Board. She is married to Michael Huffine and they have 5 children.

“I am very excited to be joining such a dynamic team of leaders here at Interfaith. The impact that this team makes within our community is incredible and I am honored to be a small part of that work,” said Jennifer Huffine, Interfaith of The Woodlands Director of Programs and Services. Her many years of experience give her the ideal perspective to take on the role of Co-Director of Programs and Services at Interfaith of The Woodlands that will further our mission of bringing people together to build and more loving and caring community through service.

INTERFAITH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS TO SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Woodlands, TX (Friday, September 7, 2018) — The Board of Directors for Interfaith of The Woodlands and Interfaith Community Clinic are pleased to announce the appointments of Holly Mayer, Director of Programs and Services, and Carolyn Donovan, Director of Development. Both women bring a combined total of over 30 years of service and nonprofit experience to the Senior Leadership team that will lead Interfaith as it moves into its 45th year of serving South Montgomery County.

“Holly and Carolyn join a group of dedicated and experienced leaders who are committed to Interfaith’s mission and the leading of over 350 employees and the many communities we serve,” said President and CEO, Missy Herndon. “A leader at Interfaith is asked to not just come to work; they are asked to focus on serving the people of our community, and for our team, that is a passion. This is a calling and I am grateful that both of these amazing women answered the call.”

Holly Mayer is Interfaith’s Director of Programs and Services, a position that was previously filled by Lucy Gomez, who was promoted to Vice President of Programs in May. Mayer has served at Interfaith for six years working as Volunteer Manager and on the Senior Services team, positions that required her to expertly cultivate relationships and resources in order to best serve the needs of both those serving and those being served. During her time at Interfaith, Mayer worked with all programs requiring volunteer resources and was instrumental in the organizing of the over 12,000 volunteers during Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Her many years of nonprofit management and experience give her the ideal perspective to take on the role of Director of Programs and Services.

Mayer has lived in The Woodlands since 1992 with her husband and three children. Prior to coming to Interfaith, she served for many community, church, and school committees and was named a Montgomery County Woman of Distinction in 2008. She has served as a Board Member of NOAH (The National Organization of Albinism and Hypopigmentation), as President of National Charity League The Woodlands Chapter and currently serves on the Board for The Woodlands Lions Club.

Mayer says, “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving The Woodlands in this new role. My years at Interfaith have deepened my commitment to the programs and services that Interfaith offers and how they change the lives of local people.”

Carolyn Donovan joins Interfaith of The Woodlands with a wealth of nonprofit management experience spanning a 17-year career working with educational, healthcare and social service organizations. Her track record of successful strategic planning, program development and donor cultivation has prepared her well to lead Interfaith’s Development efforts. From working on capital campaigns to leading annual events and fundraising efforts, Carolyn’s emphasis has always been on connecting donors with the mission of the organization.

Donovan says, “I am honored and humbled to be a part of the team responsible for carrying on Interfaith of The Woodlands’ 45-year legacy of helping our neighbors in need. In my short time with the organization, I have seen first-hand how lives in crisis became lives blessed with assistance and hope for a brighter tomorrow. Our loyal donors make miracles happen every day and I am thrilled to work alongside them, continuing the tradition.”

Prior to joining Interfaith, Carolyn served as a Corporate Market Director with the American Heart Association and as Development Manager for Beyond Batten Disease Foundation. A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Carolyn and her family have lived in The Woodlands for ten years.

In regards to these new additions to the Senior Leadership Team, Herndon has this to say: “As we move into our 45th year of service, we are assembling a leadership team that will continue our mission to build a more loving and caring community through service, and Carolyn and Holly both bring the veteran skills and ideas that will help us grow within our community. Interfaith is well equipped to continue our commitment to serving the people of The Woodlands.”
