
2026 Hometown Hero Nomination
The first Hometown Heroes were recognized in 1999, as part of The Woodlands 25th Anniversary celebration.
Since this time, 169 individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations have received this honor.
Nominations are accepted for those who embody the qualities listed below, leading professional and/or public service efforts that have positively impacted and added to the quality of life of The Woodlands Community.
Nominations are independently reviewed by a committee of previously awarded Hometown Heroes.
2026 Hometown Heroes will be announced in mid-January, and officially recognized during
The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala in 2026 (date to be confirmed).
What makes a Hometown Hero?
- Positive role model
- History of volunteerism
- Sacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals
- Special awards and recognitions
- Brings positive recognition to The Woodlands
- Embodies the values of The Woodlands community, i.e., family values, the importance of education, the arts and culture, environmental consciousness
- Economic contributions to the community
- Leadership and courage
- Consistent dedication and commitment to worthy causes
- Representative of the diversity within the community
- Spiritual leadership
- Dedication to public service

- Nominations accepted beginning Friday, August 1, 2025, through Monday, September 1, 2025.
