DESCRIPTION:2027 THE WOODLANDS CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE GALA\nFRIDAY\, FEBRUARY 26\, 2027\n  \n\n2027 Hometown Hero Nomination\nThe first Hometown Heroes were recognized in 1999\, as part of The Woodlands 25th Anniversary celebration. \nSince this time\, 178 individuals\, businesses and non-profit organizations have received this honor. \n Nominations are accepted for those who embody the qualities listed below\, leading professional and/or public service efforts that have positively impacted and added to the quality of life of The Woodlands Community. \nNominations are independently reviewed by a committee of previously awarded Hometown Heroes. \n2027 Hometown Heroes will be announced in mid-January\, and officially recognized during \nThe Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala on February 26\, 2027. \n\nWhat makes a Hometown Hero? \nPositive role model \nHistory of volunteerism \nSacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals \nSpecial awards and recognitions \nBrings positive recognition to The Woodlands \nEmbodies the values of The Woodlands community\, i.e.\, family values\, the importance of education\, the arts and culture\, environmental consciousness \nEconomic contributions to the community \nLeadership and courage \nConsistent dedication and commitment to worthy causes \nRepresentative of the diversity within the community \nSpiritual leadership \nDedication to public service \n\nNominations will be accepted from Monday\, August 3\, 2026\, through Friday\, September 4\, 2026. The nomination form will be available for download on this page beginning August 3\, 2026.
